I, Too, Sing America by Langston Hughes and We Wear the clothe by Paul Laurence Dunbar be both rimes filled with the hardships of being an African American. While I Too Sing America focuses on an African Americans dream of being separated, We Wear the Mask focuses on African American struggles of holding all emotions inside and non expressing singles thoughts and feelings. I, Too, Sing America and We Wear the Mask be both told in pre direct tense and world-class somebody and have the same meaning, but each license a difference in form, meter, imagery, tone, and attitude. I, Too, Sing America, a free verse verse form, is about an African Americans design and hope of being free. In the years of slavery, African Americans in a ashen household had to eat in the kitchen rather than at the prorogue with the family. The last few lines of the first stanza show that the injustice does non happen the speaker from being happy and cheerful.
